November 2-5, 2017: Native American Festival and Pow-Wow
Head to Stone Mountain Park and experience Native American culture through dance, cooking and storytelling. The four-day festival will begin Thursday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will continue the rest of the weekend. November 3, 2017: Night for Sight
Celebrate the gift of sight at the inaugural Night for Sight dinner and dancing event, benefiting Prevent Blindness Georgia. The evening will feature fabulous cocktails, delicious food from Affairs to Remember, dancing and an award presentation for Dr. Tom Harbin. November 4, 2017: Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp Chili Cook-Off and Bluegrass Festival
Romp, chomp and stomp your way through this year’s Chomp & Stomp Festival! Run the Romp & Stomp 5K through Cabbagetown then grab a $5 spoon and chomp your way through hundreds of chili tastings. This all leads up to “stomping” off some of those calories to the live music across four stages. The race starts at 8 a.m. (7:45 a.m. for walkers) before the festival, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. One last thing: As much as we love our four-legged friends, they’ll have to stay home and sit this adventure out. chompandstomp.com
November 4, 2017: Decatur Wine Festival
No whining! It’s wine time at the Decatur Wine Festival! Featuring nearly 500 wines at over 70 tables to taste, we really can’t think of any reason not to go. November 5, 2017: Afternoon in the Country
Like to eat al fresco? Afternoon in the Country features chefs from Atlanta’s top restaurants, paired with our area’s best farms, set up in a tasting format alongside fabulous wines and microbrews at the Foxhall Resort & Sporting Club near Douglasville. The event, which also features live music and a huge silent auction, benefits Atlanta Les Dames d’Escoffier International, a worldwide society of women dedicated to creating a culture in the community that promotes the achievement of women in culinary professions through educational and charitable activities. On November 11, at exactly 11:11 a.m., the 36th Annual Veterans Day Parade will begin and end in downtown Atlanta, weaving through the city. November 11, 2017: Grant Park Mothball
A Grant Park tradition, the Mothball is a costume party you won’t want to miss! This year’s theme is “Mardi Gras to Grant Park,” and will feature an authentic New Orleans brass band, the traditional costume contest and more.
