EVO ICL in NYC

For years, the only method of permanent vision correction that didn’t involve contact lenses, glasses, or the removal of a cataract was corrective laser eye surgery.

You can enjoy clearer and more vivid vision in a simple outpatient procedure that doesn’t remove any corneal tissue. This implantable contact lens is made with a Collamer material, which is flexible and bio-compatible and created with built-in protection against harmful UV light rays.

What Are EVO ICL Lenses

EVO ICL, or implantable Collamer Lens, is a refractive implant that can correct prevalent vision issues like astigmatism and nearsightedness. Unlike other vision correction treatments, EVO ICL represents an additive technology that avoids the removal of any corneal tissue and eliminates or reduces the need for using corrective eyewear while still being a removable treatment option.

The lens is made from a biocompatible material called Collamer that works harmoniously with your eye. During the procedure, the doctor will create a small incision in your corneal where they will insert and position the EVO ICL. The surgery is typically painless; experts will use eye drops to numb your eyes before the procedure.

You can experience vision improvements immediately, along with a quick recovery.

The EVO ICL lens is intended to correct/reduce nearsightedness between -3.0 and -20.0 D and treat astigmatism from 1.0 D to 4.0 D. If you have nearsightedness within these ranges, EVO ICL surgery may improve your distance vision without eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Because the EVO ICL corrects for distance vision, it does not eliminate the need for reading glasses; you may require them at some point, even if you have never worn them before. Since the implantation of the EVO ICL is a surgical procedure, before considering EVO ICL surgery, you should have a complete eye examination and talk with your eye care professional about EVO ICL surgery, especially the potential benefits, risks, and complications.

Long-term benefits of Permanent Contact Lenses

In a study of 500 patients who received ICL treatment at Fort Bragg, 98% of patients reported better vision than they had in their glasses previously, and 75% said their vision was better than it had been in their contact lenses. Dr. Stetson and the team at Diamond Vision have observed similar results and, in fact, had many patients who have experienced an improvement in their best-corrected vision.

Why trust Diamond Vision with EVO ICL
Surgery - Implantable Contact Lens Surgery

We can say it with certainty; you won’t be disappointed if you choose us to take care of your EVO ICL procedure.

As one of the leading experts in the field of ophthalmology, and laser vision correction surgery, we will be able to cater to your every need and swiftly determine the best course of action, whether in the case of EVO ICL or any other procedure.

As the FDA approved ICL treatments in 2005, we were among the first practices to implement it as a treatment option and have had marvelous results ever since.

When comparing the EVO ICL lens to other options, most patients will often compare it with LASIK.

LASIK will generally cost around $2000 to $2500 per eye. EVO ICL is around $6250 to $7000 per eye. Few insurance companies cover either procedure.

When it comes to overall success rates, the EVO ICL lens ranks relatively high, with a general satisfaction rate of a staggering 99.9%.
While rapid visual recovery is expected after the procedure, it should be emphasized that this procedure is still an intra-ocular surgery and thus carries with it some minor risks. While these rates are speculative and data continues to be reviewed, surgeons believe that the risks of infection are suspected to be approximately 0.07% or 7 out of 10,000 since the age of fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic prophylaxis, which we currently use.

There is a small risk of increased intraocular pressure, for which patients will be closely monitored during the first 24 hours after the procedure. The risk of an extensive course of inflammation is very low. Five-year follow-up data suggest a 1–2% risk of cataract formation, and this data continues to be reviewed as more ICLs are placed.

Dr. Stetson has observed a slightly less than 1% rate of mild cataract formation after placement of more than 100 ICLs over five years. However, he has not had to remove or replace any ICLs that he has implanted.

Eye rubbing or having ICL positioned too close to one’s native lens may increase the risk of cataract formation long term. The team at Diamond Vision will monitor your ICL Lens Position to ensure proper placement to minimize this risk.

Who is a good candidate for Implantable Contact Lens Surgery

Candidates for the EVO ICL are between 21 and 45 years of age, suffer from myopia (nearsightedness), and want to experience superior vision correction. The ideal EVO ICL surgery candidate has not undergone any ophthalmic surgery and has no history of eye diseases such as iritis, glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy.

A Diamond Vision Surgeon will insert the EVO ICL lens through a small micro-opening, placing it inside the eye just behind the iris in front of the eye’s natural lens. The EVO Implantable Contact Lens is designed to stay in position with no special care.

What to expect from EVO ICL

The EVO ICL is designed to be completely unobtrusive after it is put in place. It stays in position by itself and does not interact with any of the eye’s structures. After the simple 15-minute outpatient procedure, patients experience an immediate improvement in vision quality and are “Wowed” by the results.

As far as discomfort and pain is concerned, most patients state that they are very comfortable throughout the procedure. Your Diamond Vision Surgeon will use topical anesthetic drops before the procedure and may also choose to administer a light sedative. The EVO ICL has already improved the lives of more than 100,000 people worldwide, and it’s helping more every day!
